Fall is finally here! And after the Summer we had, I’m so ready for it. Bring on the sweaters, cool nights, pumpkin everything (if you like that sorta thing), and of course…SCARVES!
I have to say that I wasn’t always an accessories person, but the more I crochet the more I fall in love with matching accessories to my outfits.
When designing the Peephole Scarf, I knew that I wanted a crochet scarf that could be worn with anything. Now normally I don’t mix prints with crochet accessories, but this scarf changed my mind. The simplicity of the scarf makes it so versatile that it can be dressed up with a skirt or dressed down with some jeans.
Easy for beginners…
Looking to expand your crochet techniques? Then the Peephole Scarf is for you. This design is made up of only one stitch, but utilizes spaces and chains to create a very delicate chevron pattern. It is made in one piece so there is no seaming or connecting required. If you are a beginner and you want to learn how to elevate a basic stitch, then this pattern is for you. Still need help with those basic stitches? No worries! Check out the Beginners Series where I’ll show you all the basics.
The Yarn…
If you’ve been following me for a while then you know I usually have set yarns that I use, but this year I’ve gotten the chance to play in some different yarny goodness. When my friends from LoveCrafts sent me this Paintbox Yarn Simply DK, it was love at first sight. This has easily become one of my new favorite acrylic DK weight yarns. It was so hard to choose a color for this yarn because it comes in sooo many varieties, but in the end, I chose Vintage Pink and I’m glad I did. It comes in skeins of 306 yards which is excellent, and for $3.00 a skein, you can’t go wrong. You will definitely be seeing more of this yarn from my end.
Yarn Subs…
Now if you can’t get your hands on any Paintbox Yarn Simply DK from LoveCrafts, then that’s okay. This yarn can be substituted for any DK weight yarn in any fiber! Another reason to go ahead and start your Peephole Scarf.
